Empowering Communities, Inspiring Change
In Southern Punjab, women have long been overlooked in almost every area of development. Government programs and institutional initiatives rarely focus on women’s participation, and in a male-dominated society, they often lack the authority to make decisions about their own livelihoods. In districts such as Khanewal, a large number of female-headed households depend on small landholdings, yet remain excluded from livestock and agricultural development programs. Consequently, women’s empowerment continues to be one of the region’s major challenges.
Visionary Leadership
Recognizing this gap, Dr. Nuzhat Qaisar, Executive Director of Usama Dairies Training and Research Institute, took the initiative to bring women into the mainstream of agricultural progress. Believing that empowerment begins with knowledge, she designed practical training programs focused on livestock management, dairy production, and sustainable agriculture areas where women could immediately apply new skills for income generation and community well-being.
Community Mobilization and Early Efforts
At the start, Dr. Nuzhat Qaisar personally invited rural women to visit the institute. During these visits, she shared success stories of farms established and managed through the institute’s support, showing what was possible with determination and guidance. These interactions helped break cultural barriers and inspired women to participate in hands-on training sessions and small group learning activities
Building Confidence and Creating Opportunities
As women began to engage in training, their enthusiasm grew. Many had never received formal instruction in livestock or farm management, yet quickly realized their potential to improve family income through small-scale farming. Even those living below the poverty line, unable to purchase animals initially, started working collectively to develop small herds and share resources.

At Our Cow Farm, sustainability is not just a goal it’s a guiding principle behind everything we do. We integrate eco-friendly practices into every stage of our operations, balancing dairy production with care for the environment. From using renewable energy and efficient water systems to responsible waste management and nutrient recycling, each step is designed to protect natural resources while supporting the well-being of our cows.
Through continuous innovation, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint and promote a model of farming where productivity and planet care thrive together building a greener, more sustainable future for all.
